Which of these players did NOT stay at one club for his whole career?
Rules & what counts
Odd One Out: Football — Rules & What Counts
Four names, one impostor — football edition. Which of these clubs has NEVER won the Champions League? Which player NEVER wore the Real Madrid shirt? Which of these is not from London, never won the World Cup, never played in goal — and which of these clubs was never real at all?
The traps are football's favourite arguments: Atlético's three lost finals, the Netherlands' three without a trophy, Zlatan's missing Ballon d'Or. Every round ends with the one-line fact — and the near-misses sting the most.
How to play
Read the question. Then tap the club, player or country that does not belong.
You get one pick for each round. There are no second guesses.
The quiz marks your answer immediately. It also gives one line that explains the answer.
You start with three lives. The hearts in the top bar show the lives that you have.
A correct answer gives one point. A wrong answer costs one life.
A round that costs a life gives no points. The quiz continues with the next round.
The run ends when you lose the third life. It also ends when you play all the rounds.
Select "Review rounds" on the result screen to see each round that you played.
What counts in this quiz
The quiz holds 55 categories — trophies, transfers, geography and history of the game all rotate in. One run can use all of them.
Facts are checked against the record books up to and including the 2025-26 season — finals lost count as never winning, however unfair that feels.
Your score is the number of correct answers. The maximum score is 55 — every round in the quiz.
A wrong answer costs one life. You keep the points that you have.
The timer counts up from your first pick. It only separates equal scores on the leaderboard.
What's not included — and why
No opinion rounds — every category is a checkable fact (titles won, clubs played for, city of origin), never 'best' or 'greatest'.
Loan spells and youth careers count as having played for a club, so no impostor hides behind a technicality.
Good to know
Arsenal have now lost two Champions League finals twenty years apart — 2006 to Barcelona and 2026 to PSG.
The Netherlands have played three World Cup finals (1974, 1978, 2010) without ever winning one — the best team never to be champions.
Nottingham Forest won the European Cup twice (1979, 1980) — more European Cups than English league titles.
