About TRIVI.GG
TRIVI.GG is a free quiz site. It holds more than 120 quizzes on geography,
science, language, sport and general knowledge. You play in the browser, and
you do not need an account.
Who makes it
TRIVI.GG is an independent site. One developer builds and maintains it, and
writes the quiz content. It is not part of a larger network, and no publisher
supplies its questions.
Why it exists
Most quiz sites ask multiple-choice questions. A multiple-choice question tests
recognition. This site asks you to produce the answer instead, because that is
what tells you whether you really know a set.
So nearly every quiz here asks you to name every item in a set — every country,
every capital, every element. You type, and each correct answer appears on the
map or the grid as you go.
How the quizzes are built
Every quiz is data, not a hand-written question list. A quiz holds a set of
items, and a mode decides what the quiz asks about them. This is why one set of
countries gives you a map quiz, a capitals quiz and a flags quiz.
- Answer data comes from public sources: United Nations membership, ISO country codes, IUPAC element names, and each country's own designation of its capital. The credits page lists every source and asset licence.
- Accepted spellings are written by hand for each item. The country quiz accepts "Holland" for the Netherlands and "Burma" for Myanmar. It does not guess at near-misses, because a matcher that guesses marks wrong answers correct.
- Rules for each quiz are on the quiz itself. Open the information button in the quiz header to read what the quiz includes, what it excludes, and why.
- Reference lists hold the full answer set for each quiz, and explain how the set is defined. See all reference lists.
Scores, accounts and privacy
A score is the count of correct answers, and each quiz also records your time.
The site keeps your best result for each quiz and mode. You can play as a guest
— the site still saves your results, and it moves them to your account if you
sign in later.
The site runs its own analytics, and it does not sell personal information. Read
the privacy policy for what is
collected and how to remove it.
Report a mistake
Quiz answers contain mistakes sometimes, and a missing accepted spelling is the
most common one. Please report it — corrections usually ship within a few days.
